Pinched Nerve
There are 24 spinal bones called vertebrae that house and protect your spinal cord while allowing turning and bending movements. There are pairs of nerve roots on each side of your spinal cord that branch off at each vertebral level to provide instruction and information to the cells, organs, and tissues of the body. When the openings that these nerves come out of become obstructed, the communication between your brain and the rest of your body is interrupted resulting in lack of control and regulation. These openings can become obstructed when these vertebrae become malpositioned. When this occurs and results in nerve irritation, we call it a vertebral subluxation complex.
Chiropractors identify the vertebral subluxation complexes, and give a specific chiropractic adjustment to restore proper alignment resulting in less obstruction of the nerve which results in increased communication between your brain and the rest of your body.
